I can't shake this cold

Tried to ride a little yesterday and went into a coughing fit.

I'm going to try again tomorrow.

My new handlebars with drop bar ends and sitting here calling to me.

Kate, will post as soon as I give them a try. They've passed the "sit" test in my living room. LOL.

Darn cold

I've got my new handlebar and bar ends installed and I've been too sick to ride. (Not to mention I'd rather avoid the 15 mph winds that have been blowing.)

I hope to get out Sunday.

Kay, the drop bar ends look very promising. I think they're going to work. It's just going to take a little time to get everything adjusted.

I won't be riding without an Allen wrench handy for quite a few rides. ;-)

Fun bike project

I've been wishing for drop bars lately when the wind has come up during my ride. I love my bike so much, though, that I didn't want to get a new bike just to get drop bars.

I also didn't want to have to change my shifter and brake levers either.

Here's a solution I'm trying after a ton of research. Bless Google.

I put on these Ritchey Comp Mountain Bike bars:



And I added Origin 8 Drop Bar Ends:



I'm still making adjustments and I have one more test run on Friday. Then I'll post a pic and let you know how they work out. So far, they work great. They look strange, but I'm getting used to them.

I'll probably change my bike's name from Speedbump to Frank (call name for Frankenstein.) LOL.

My partner got me a great Valentine's Day present this year. It's a wrist Road ID.

I was going to buy one for him.

I'm convinced since we have them that we'll never need them.

I ride a 2005 Specialized Sirrus WSD. I do so love my bike.

I'm currently changing out my handlebars so I'll post a new picture soon. Here he was before I started playing with my Allen wrench:
